As of this writing water temperature on Cedar Creek Lake is 86 degrees. A moderate thermocline has set up around 19-21 feet which means fish are staging above that depth range. The sandies are stacking up on main lake points in water 10-13 feet. Very few fish being caught deeper than that right now.
Most fish are being caught trolling hellbender/pet spoon combos with a few being caught on small chrome slabs early in the morning. Watch for jumping Shad or egrets hovering over shallow flats. Position boat upwind then drift thru schooling action.
A few Hybrids are being caught with the Sandies so check fish carefully. Hybrids must be 18 inches or longer to retain. Crappie are being caught on small minnows around shaded bridge columns in 8-14 feet. Channel catfish are being caught on livers and stink bait around fish cleaning stations. Use a small treble hook and light weight sinker and fish baits just above the bottom. Redear and shell crackers are being caught on small crickets along drop offs in 5-19 ft of water.
