With water temps in the high 50’s fish are actively feeding for colder weather that may or may not happen but this time each year they gouge themselves in shad so look for diving seagulls near humps and ledges in the south end of the lake. Use any swim bait such as a sassy shad in chartreuse or day glo. When birds are not working, we use chrome jigging spoons over humps in 20-25 feet of water. Drop lures to the bottom then raise it up, bites usually occur while lifting lure.
Crappie are stacked up around bridge columns 8-14 feet. Use tube jigs or small minnows and fish the shaded side of the bridge column. Blue cats being caught drifted cut shad in deep water. Watch for birds sitting in the water and drop shad below them.
